how can i tell if i have an infection after carpal tunnel surgery?

My wife had carpal tunnel surgery 3 weeks ago and her body sems to be rejecting the disolveable sticthes (she called the nurse and she said its normal) but after 2 days of the stitches moving towards the skin her hands started swelling and turning more red and her movement has decreased. It seems to me they are infected but I just want to see if anyone has had a similar experience. Thanks!

I am interested in this field. I have heard that you can specialize in MRIs or CTs. While im in my 3 year program, will i be taught things related to MRIs and CTs? When they say “additional training” to specialize in these areas, do they mean you have to return to school or are you taught this at your job?

CTS

Around 10,000 used of course.
2003 cts looks nice, the 2005 chrysler looks good.

But any similar cars around the same price range?

I think it’s the grill that makes them look good.

Basically a newer body style like the ones mentioned.

I want to write a story (that is going to be a bit long) and my dad has Carpal Tunnel Syndrome because his job required a lot of using scissors. I don’t want to write freehand so how can I prevent getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from long periods of typing. I’m also only 14 so is this also a factor? Serious answers please. Thank you =]

Hi!

A part of my palm in between my thumb and pointer finger is slightly swollen and it feels sort of numb and tingly. My wrist feels a little weak, too, and my elbow is a little tingly. There’s no serious pain or burning anywhere, though.

Does it sound like carpal tunnel syndrome to you?

My mother bought a used 2003 Cadillac CTS and it has a nice Bose system in it however she can’t pick up any radio stations. For Mother’s day I was wanting to get that fixed for her but I don’t know the first thing about how to go about accomplishing that. Any help would be appreciated!

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a kind of repetitive stress injury (RSI). The name of Carpal tunnel syndrome has come from the structure of injured area i.e. in our wrist a tunnel formed by carpal bones. Through this carpal tunnel, there is a median nerve passing to the hand. CTS is a kind of injury that mostly happens to dominant wrist and forearm area. Sometimes it can happen in patient’s both hand. Patients’ affected by this disease may face some common symptoms such as pain and numbness in the index and middle finger and also in thumb, tingling in one or both hands, weakness and pain in the arm. Sometimes the pain becomes so unbearable for patient that they wake up at night. The conservative approach to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome treatment is better for the patients along with invasive modalities like open and endoscopic release surgery and cortisone injections.

You can go for conservative approach that includes rest and shunning of aggravating work. Anti-inflammatory medications, specially designed to reduce swelling and tenderness are also effective for this treatment.

In unusual cases the intervention techniques listed above are adequate to treat carpal tunnel syndrome. Environmental modifications like therapeutic chairs and computer keyboard pads are needed as other interventions.

Muscle imbalance due to overuse of hand and forearm is the common reason of carpal tunnel syndrome.

The most effective way to eliminate carpal tunnel syndrome is to correct muscle imbalances in the hand and forearm with therapeutic exercises. This therapeutic exercise helps you to get relief from the compression of the median nerve if you stretching and lengthening the flexor muscles that bend the fingers and wrist. At the time of any gripping activities the strengthening extensor muscles do the main job for the fingers and wrists.

Simple therapeutic exercises help to correct the muscle imbalance due to nerve entrapment in carpal tunnel, which allows patients to avoid resort, splints, braces or low success rated invasive treatment (cortisone injection or surgery).

In surgery, on an average the failure rate is 57% after following up from 1-day up to 6-years. Pain, numbness, and tingling sensations- one of these may be faced during this time.

The failure rate of taking steroid injection after a year for giving relief is about 76% of all patients.

Non-invasive treatment Carpal Tunnel Syndrome treatment is better choice as it gives a higher rate of short-term success and long-term relief. For best choice that fits your life-style you should consult the primary care. Remember, surgery is not your only options when it comes to your problems with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. You can easily use all natural methods for better long lasting results, whereas surgery is not a guaranteed solution. As you can see taking a natural approach to your problems with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the much better choice.

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is an often misunderstood condition which is  characterized by symptoms in the hand such as pain and numbness. It can be very  disabling, preventing many from being able to work. It is the most common nerve  problem which affects the hands and can happen to anyone. To deal with this  condition, many resort to invasive procedures such as surgery or injections  which can have harmful side effects. Few realize that chiropractic is an  excellent treatment option for carpal tunnel syndrome and often corrects the  cause of the problem.

In order to understand how chiropractic can help with carpal tunnel syndrome  it is important to know what the carpal tunnel is and the structures around it.  The carpal tunnel is a small tunnel located inside the wrist. The top of the  tunnel is formed by the alignment of the carpal (wrist) bones and the bottom is  formed by the transverse ligament. There are nine tendons along with the median  nerve which pass through the carpal tunnel. The symptoms of CTS are caused from  the median nerve being irritated. The nerve can become inflamed and swollen  causing pressure within the carpal tunnel.

The median nerve originates in the neck and travels under the collar bone,  then passes down the arm. Finally, it passes through the carpal tunnel and to  the hand muscles. The median nerve controls motor and sensory function to part  of the hand. Pressure on the median nerve results in a disruption of signals  from the brain to the hand which are relayed through the median nerve. If  correction is not made to the median nerve, permanent problems can result. These  can include partial or complete loss of movement, strength and sensation of the  hand.

Some of the warning signs that may be related to carpal tunnel syndrome are  numbness, tingling or weakness of the hands, neck tightness, swelling of the  hands, abnormal sensation and clumsiness with use of the hands. Because the  median nerve originates from the neck, it may become compressed anywhere along  the course of its path. Misaligned bones of the neck, tight muscles of the neck,  shoulder problems, cervical (neck) ribs, inflamed tendons and misaligned carpal  (wrist) bones can all result in compressing the median nerve. This results in  the symptoms associated with CTS.

Sometimes the median nerve can be compressed in both the neck and wrist, this  condition is called “double crush syndrome.” Double crush syndrome results in  similar symptoms to carpal tunnel syndrome which is a reason for the failure of  wrist only surgeries for treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome.

There are several causes of carpal tunnel syndrome. Occasionally it is  congenital or with you from birth. It is usually caused from poor posture or  ergonomics, repetitive movements done improperly over time, slips or falls,  awkward hand positions from playing sports and work or hobbies such as bowling  or racquetball. Pregnancy, birth control pills, diets that are high in salt and  systemic diseases like diabetes can also contribute to the problem.

Incorrect posture while sitting at the computer can contribute to the cause  of carpal tunnel syndrome. There is a tendency to sit with the shoulders rolled  forward and the head thrust forward. This can cause misaligned bones in the  neck, resulting in irritation of the nerves that form the median nerve. This can  cause referred pain, numbness or tingling in the hand. Maintaining good posture  while sitting can help to the problem. This should include sitting upright with  the shoulders relaxed and the head upright over the shoulders. The wrists should  be in a neutral position and you should avoid continuously flexing or extending  the wrists. The computer screen should be set at eye level and straight ahead to  avoid continuously turning the neck.

Chiropractic can very effective in preventing carpal tunnel syndrome and  treating it once it has developed. Chiropractic treatment directly releases  pressure from the nerves by correcting misaligned bones. CTS may result from  misaligned bones in the neck or wrist. Chiropractors have extensive education in  dealing with the nervous system and muscular problems in the body. A  Chiropractor can perform an X-ray, wrist and hand evaluation to determine the  extent of the injury. Based on the result, the chiropractor will recommend a  treatment plan which may include chiropractic adjustments to work on the  misaligned bones and therapy to work on inflammation or injury to the soft  tissue, such as ligaments and muscles. Research has shown chiropractic to be  just as effective as medical treatment in helping with carpal tunnel syndrome.  Chiropractic is a good alternative because it is natural and does not have the  complications and side effects which are often found with medical treatment.

X-rays are a history when technology has now advanced to CT scans, which are very commonly heard of. To start with, CT scan is Computed Tomography scan, also known as CAT scan – Computerized Axial Tomography, which is a sophisticated x-ray procedure. During the scan, multiple images are taken and are compiled into cross-sectional images of bone, soft tissue and blood vessels. The advantage of CT scan is that it can obtain images of those parts which a standard x-ray cannot and hence, it helps in earlier diagnosis and successfully alleviating many diseases. Although Ct imaging involves X-rays, its diagnostic benefits outweigh the harm of the exposure to radiation.

The history of CT scan can be traced back to 1970s, when it was discovered by a British engineer by the name of Dr. Alan Cormack and Sir Godfrey Hounsfield and they were jointly won the 1979 Nobel Prize for it. First CT scanner was installed in 1974 and currently the number exceeds 6000 in US. Advanced medical services have now made the procedure more comfortable and faster and the outcomes are also improved diagnostic capabilities and high-resolution images, which is beneficial for the radiologists.

CT scans help the doctors focus on small nodules and tumors, which are not visible in an X-ray. These scans are often used to examine the brain, chest, neck, spine, abdomen, sinuses and pelvis. This scan has revolutionized medicine as CT scan helps to find minute details which could earlier be found only with an autopsy or a surgery. Ct scan can be called a non-invasive and safe procedure.

Though, CT scan and MRI are considered similar, the comparison of MRI vs CT scan shows that MRI uses radio waves and a magnetic field to produce images, unlike a CT, which uses x-rays. The comparison can be done, depending on what needs to be visualized and the reason for the test. While CT scans are preferred modality for cancer, bleeding in brain due to injury, abnormal chest x-rays and pneumonia, MRI is the best choice for tendons and ligaments, like density and composition of spinal cord, or tumor in brain. CAT is superior when it comes to examining the lungs and organs in the chest cavity and hence people mostly prefer chest CT scan along with CT scan brain.

The pictures collected by the CT scan are slices of the different part of the body which helps focus on a particular area. The new technology offers the multi-slice spiral CT scanners which collect 8 times more data than the previous ones. Technology proves to be a boon for the medical field.

Im going to purchase subs and amp for my 2010 cadillac cts and i was wondering if i could use the factory deck.

Also, is it possible to install a double din in-dash in that same vehicle? Thanks
